Books I love - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2 min)

There are books that make you smile and then there are books that make you laugh. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is definitely one of the latter for me.

By far the funniest book I've come across so far, this series is nothing short of a masterpiece. Douglas Adams seems like one of those guys who can make jokes on just about anything. And in this series, he's picked on just that - everything. Riddled from front to back with hilarious pieces about humans, animals, society, politics, the Earth, the Universe, God, science, robots, mattresses, spaceships and almost everything else you can possibly think of, this trilogy in five parts is just too much.

In fact, I've read it cover to cover multiple times already, and just reminiscing it is making me want to pick it up again. I'll just end this post here itself, with a few amazing quotes from this masterpiece:

"If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now."

"The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."

"Nothing travels faster than the speed of light, with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws."

"God's final message to his creation:
We apologize for the inconvenience."

This books is not one to miss, believe me!
